AG-DP800H
Introducing
the world's first FIT 3-CCD Digital Signal Processing Camera and S-VHS Recorder
in one compact,
integrated
package. With the AG-DP800H you will enjoy a level of picture quality and operational
convenience far
surpassing that of conventional S-VHS camera/recorder. The AG-DP800H also features
a Super High Gain mode
which allows shooting with minimum illumination of 2 lux. Now, video production
and broadcasting professionals
can take further advantage of Panasonic's highly reliable and advanced digital
signal processing camera technology.
Panasonic's
professional S-VHS lineup delivers exceptional picture quality and high performance
in models from
everything from field recording to editing. The S-VHS format is ideal for use
in video production systems, while multiple
interfaces enable easy incorporation into broadcast and professional systems
such as MII.
High Sensitivity
FIT CCD Performance dramatically benefits from three high-density 380,000-pixel
CCDs with
half-pitch pixel offset and other innovative technology. Horizontal resolution
reaches 700 lines and beyond. Video
S/N exceeds 60 dB. Sensitivity is a remarkable F8 at 2000 lux. The result is
extraordinary image quality for original
acquisition. Frame Interline Transfer (FIT) minimizes vertical smear, helping
to maintain impressive picture quality
even in very bright illumination.
Advanced
Digital Signal Processing Using digital circuitry to process the video image
brings valuable benefits:
(1) Consistently reliable up-to-spec performance. (2) Fine adjustment of a wide
range of parameters.
(3) Memory storage and instant accurate recall of specific settings. (4)
More flexible and higher quality image processing, as well as easier maintenance and all around enhanced performance.
Chroma Detail This function compensates for poor resolution in the high chroma areas of the picture.
Dark Detail
The dark detail circuit determines the optimum degree of contour enhancement
in dark areas of the picture,
to deliver crisp, clear, natural-looking images even under challenging lighting
conditions.
Highlight
Compression The digital control circuit expands the dynamic range of the highlighted
areas and prevents
halation. The highlight compression circuit allows a wide dynamic range producing
detailed images even against
bright backbite or daylight. A Flare Correction Circuit compensates for unsteady
black caused by light or by a
subject's movements.
Convenient
Scene File To further enhance operational speed and flexibility, a total of
six Scene File modes are available.
There are two user modes for customized digital parameter settings including
kH.DTL, V.DTL, CHROMA DTL,
DARK DTL, CORING, LEVEL DEP, COLOR CORRECTION, etc. Four present modes are NORMAL,
FLUORESCENT,
SPECIAL and SPARKLING.
Camera AGC
& Super High Gain Mode (2 Lux) In addition to regular camera AGC (Automatic
Gain Control), the
AG-DP800 has a Super High Gain mode. At F1.4, this enables shooting under illumination
as low as 2 lux while
retaining detail and color balance.
Synchro
Scan View The AG-DP800 allows flicker-free shooting of a CRT with the vertical
scan rate which is different
from the camera's. Electronic shutter increments can be set variably from 1/61.95
sec. to 1/253.78 sec.
Quick, Precise
Adjustment - Auto Iris Control/Super Iris Mode Besides center/normal zone switchable
Auto Iris Control,
there is a Super Iris mode for backlight compensation. - Auto White Balance/Auto
Black Balance - 2-Way White Balance Memory
Lightweight/Low
Power Consumption Digital image processing circuitry contributes to light weight
of only 9.9 Ibs (4.5 kg)*.
Power consumption is reduced to a mere 20 W (REC mode). ENG/EFP applications
will benefit from this improved mobility.
*Camera/Recorder with EVF.
Built-In
Phantom Power Source Phantom power can be supplied to an optional microphone.
Power can be switched off to
prevent battery drain when not in use.
Easy-to-See
Large Diameter (50 mm) EVF Camera operators will appreciate the 1.5" EVF with
550 line horizontal resolution.
The viewfinder is removable to simplify shooting at difficult angles. The quickstart
design reduces delay time before you get
an image in the viewfinder after power is switched on.
Other Features
- Variable Electronic Shutter (1/100, 1/125, 1/250,1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000, 1/4000,1/8000)
- CC/ND Filter
(3200°K, 5600°K, 5600°K+1/8ND) - Built-in Speaker - Shoulder Strap
High Quality
S-VHS Recording/Playback The S-VHS format offers outstanding video performance,
with horizontal resolution
of more than 400 lines and high S/N ratio. To take full advantage of the S-VHS,
the AG-DP800 features special amorphous
video heads having higher magnetic coercivity than conventional ferrite heads.
Improvement in color reproduction is
particularly noticeable. Expanded color signal frequency response from the amorphous
heads enhances picture quality
by minimizing color blurring.
4-Channel
Audio For optimum audio performance, the AG-DP800 features two Hi-Fi stereo
audio channels with a dynamic
range of 80 dB, as well as two linear audio channels with Dolby* NR. The result
is truly lifelike ambiance in ENG sound
recording. Normal/HiFi recording is selectable, and the levels of all four channels
are controllable. Reliable XLR connectors
are used as audio input jacks, to further ensure high quality sound.
Backup VCR
Connector (26-pin) The AG-DP800 features a 26-pin connector for direct signal
output from the camera section.
This enables easy, convenient backup recordings using an additional VCR equipped
with a 26-pin or 14-pin camera connector.
Direct connection to the AG-7450A S-VHS Portable VCR with optional AG-S745 VTR
adaptor or other VCR is also possible.
Built-In
Time Code Generator (VITC/LTC) An internal time code generator lets you add
SMPTE time code (LTC/VITC) to the
recording. So the recorded tapes can be loaded into the AG-DS850 and AG-DS840
(or other editing VCRs compatible with
VITC/LTC) for high-precision time code editing.
2 Hours
of Recording/Playback Standard S-VHS (or VHS) cassettes permit 2 hours of recording
and playback for extra
convenience in extended field recordings. Recorded tapes can go directly into
S-VHS VCRs for high quality S-VHS editing.
Other Features
Rec Review Function lets you check the last recorded section of the tape to
ensure error-free operation.
Rotary Erase Head allows clear, noise-free transitions between scenes. Warning
